Unfortunately, due to catastrophic laptop failure on day two of my trip to the Consumer Electronics Show, I was unable to post any updates directly from CES as I had planned. Now that I am back here are some quick thoughts on what was interesting related to the Pocket PC.
The Motorola Q ia an ultra cool form factor. It is so thin and light that it could almost go unnoticed in a shirt pocket. I only have two problems with this device. One, I believe they should have used Windows Mobile Phone edition instead of the Windows Mobile Smartphone operating system, as it really limits the capability of the device. Two, the keys are so close together it was difficult for me to type on the thumbpad.
The other newsworthy device is the Treo 700W. Excellent form factor, great enhancements to the operating system, and and all around a very impressive device. Not many complaints about this one, and this may be the device that finally starts to put Windows Mobile on the map against the Blackberry.
