Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo says that it will has agreed to a deal that will have it incorporating Microsoft's Windows Media technologies into its 3G FOMA handsets, scheduled to launch later this summer.
"Microsoft's Windows Media platform and the company's commitment toward enabling new digital rights management solutions for the wireless environment are helping to push the industry forward," said Takeshi Natsuno, DoCoMo's senior VP and managing director of Multimedia Services. "With support for Windows Media, users of our FOMA handsets will enjoy a broader range of services and more choices for entertainment."
