While all the details are not yet available , Hp has pre-announced a new line of handhelds called the rx4000 series. Known as the Mobile Media Companion, this device will not feature any type of phone, which shows that HP has not yet abandoned the non-converged handhelds. The devices focus will be largely multimedia, and the initial specs are as follows;
- 2.8-inch QVGA display
- Built-in wireless connectivity (802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0)
- SDIO slot
- 128MB built-in memory
The devices will apparently be available this October, at a retail price of $299 US.
