China TechFaith Wireless Communication Technology Limited (NASDAQ: CNTF), an ODM focused on research and development of cell phone solutions, today announced the launch of Gallic, the world's first Windows-based GSM/CDMA dual mode dual standby pocket PC phone.
Gallic is based on Windows 6.0 and allows users to load one GSM card and one CDMA card. The phone's features include a 2.0 megapixel camera, an MP3 and MPEG4 player, push mail and Bluetooth capabilities. TechFaith has already received an order from a major Chinese OEM for an operator brand that owns both GSM and CDMA networks, with the initial shipment expected sometime in the current fourth quarter of 2007.
