In contrast to the results that have been released in previous years, it would appear that the mobile and embedded devices division of Microsoft has started to make some money for the company.
"During its most recent financial quarter, the mobile devices portion of Microsoft managed to do something it has never done before: make money. While this division has seen a steady increase in revenues in recent quarters, this has always been offset by costs. But not last quarter. During these three months, the Mobile and Embedded Devices division of the software giant earned $20 million."
In contrast, during the same time last year the division lost 12 million. If you are interetsed in reading the full article over at Brighthand you can do so by clicking on the link below. (Source- Brighthand)

MyTinyTV is a program designed to allow you to watch TV on your Pocket PC either on your wireless network while at home, or over the internet when you are on the road. It requires a TV tuner hooked to your desktop which is used as the server to deliver the TV to your device. Currently the program does not support use of a tuner box such as is required with satellite or digital cable, but those additions are planned in the future.
With TinyTV you are able to change the channels from the Pocket PC while watching, as well as access full TV listings for North America only.
The program has a 7 day trial download, and then can be purchased for $59. Please click the link below for more information.

Google is always launching some cool and unique stuff for the web, but thier latest project will be of particular interest to connected Pocket PC users.
If you surf to www.google.com/gwt/n, you are able to enter the URL of any site you wish to view on your mobile device, and it will be presented in a re-formatted mobile friendly version. You are also given the option to load the page with or without images, which can be a real time saver to those people on slow connections.
Some users may be familiar with a very similar concept from a program called Skweezer. The new Google project is very similar, but seems to incorporate a little more of the original images and formatting from the site.

Unfortunately, due to catastrophic laptop failure on day two of my trip to the Consumer Electronics Show, I was unable to post any updates directly from CES as I had planned. Now that I am back here are some quick thoughts on what was interesting related to the Pocket PC.
The Motorola Q ia an ultra cool form factor. It is so thin and light that it could almost go unnoticed in a shirt pocket. I only have two problems with this device. One, I believe they should have used Windows Mobile Phone edition instead of the Windows Mobile Smartphone operating system, as it really limits the capability of the device. Two, the keys are so close together it was difficult for me to type on the thumbpad.
The other newsworthy device is the Treo 700W. Excellent form factor, great enhancements to the operating system, and and all around a very impressive device. Not many complaints about this one, and this may be the device that finally starts to put Windows Mobile on the map against the Blackberry.
That's all for now, I have some pictures that I will post from the show later in the week.

Pavel Koza over at PDA Gold has done a review of the new Lenevo ET960 PPC Phone.
"Lenovo ET960 leaves no doubt what is its target segment. Featuring an integrated GSM/GPRS module, a reduced-size display (the first to support 262000 colours!), small form factor, interesting accessories and some cool enhancements, the device is pitched against my favourite companion, MDA Compact. Read on to find out how it stands up to the competition."
Pavel always does a great job at providing an in depth analysis of the devices he reviews, and this one is no exception. You can read the full review by clicking on the link below.
